How to order PRINTS
Some pictures have a digital watermark on the picture when you view them.
The watermark WILL NOT BE shown on your purchased item.
You may notice that in some of my galleries that 5x7, 8X10, and other 4:5 aspect ratio print sizes are not listed. The reason for this is that I shoot pictures with a Professional Digital SLR camera. This camera and many like it use a 3:2 aspect ratio like 35mm film cameras do. Because of this the prints fit better on 4x6, 6x9, 8x12, 12x18, 14x21, 16x24, 18x27, 20x30 sized paper. If you print 3:2 pictures on 4:5 paper you will loose a lot of the image or end up with white space around the edges. Therefore to accomodate the differences in ratios I have resized some of the pictures during editing to accomodate a 4:5 ratio.
The downfall of 3:2 is that an 8x12 print will not fit in a 8x10 frame. There are 2 ways around this. One is to cut 2 inches off. You can do this with a ruler and a razor blade, scissors, or a paper cutter. The second option is to buy a larger, 11x14, size frame and use a matte. This actually turns out to be a better presentation for most prints anyway.

Cart confusion? Bet we know where:
1. The duplicate button.
Click when you want two different print sizes from the same photo.
2. Those odd blue lines on your photo.
It's a rude shock to discover that your photo won't fit all print sizes without surgery. But at least you're empowered with your own knife: the crop button See Below.
3. Prints for small cameras.
It's painful but true: all compact digital cameras take 3x4 photos, which fit your TV perfectly but do not fit 4x6, 5x7 or 8x10 paper perfectly.
4. I want 36 matte and 21 glossy...
On top of your cart, you'll find a quick way to copy any selection from one print to a group of others.
Photos: Cropping
Unfortunately, this comes as a rude shock to most people: your photo may not fit the paper you choose.
A photo that fits 4x6 paper perfectly cannot fit on 8x10 paper — which is more square — without cropping.
The good news is smugmug lets you specify what part to crop (lose) For example, this photo fits 4x6 prints but cannot fit an 8x10 without losing either the groom's head or feet.
However, it will fit 8x12 paper perfectly because it's the same ratio of width to height as 4x6 paper.
Simply mouse over the square box in the lower right, click and drag to change the size of the cropping area. (JavaScript must be turned on in your browser.) Mouse over any other area inside the blue rectangle and click to move the cropping area.
Click update to finsh. That's all there is to it.
